General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • Another one with reCaptcha errors

Hi have a simple site, based on standard Joomla except 4SEF, 4SEO and SIGE. The site also includes a standard Contact page with reCaptcha without "Send copy" since before upgrading to v5. I haven't stumbled upon any issues with it myself until I a few weeks ago when I was contacted by a visitor via a common friend. He hadn't been able to contact me via the Contact page, "I got some sort of error message". I tried the contact page myself a couple of times with success and hence forgot about it.

Yesterday I wanted to follow Google's call to migrate the reCaptcha keys to Google Cloud. In the old "reCAPTCHA Admin console" I then saw I had a lot of failed request. Went back to my site and did a few more tests and in some cases the "Send" button resulted in:
Empty solution not allowed.
Invalid field: Captcha

But clicking the "Send" button immediately after the error, the message got delivered. I did a "minor" Joomla upgrade, to 5.2.4, but still got this error intermittently. Migrated the keys to Google Cloud but still the error occured intermittently.

Today I upgraded to 5.2.5 and replaced, and disabled, the old Joomla invisible reCAPTCHA with nikosdion's CAPTCHA - Google Invisible reCAPTCHA and a new set of site and secret keys. Still the same intermittent issue, which can be "resolved" by clicking "Send" again, but now with a different error:
PLG_RECAPTCHA_INVISIBLE_ERROR_EMPTY_SOLUTION
Invalid field: Captcha

Any ideas what's going on here?
